39-47 - Rangers remind of 2023 (but in a bad way) in 6-4 loss to Padres

The Texas Rangers scored four runs but the San Diego Padres scored six runs.

We’ve all been waiting for the Rangers to be a little more like the 2023 team, which, you know, won the World Series, and tonight they were. The only problem is they were a little more like like the 2023 version that had us pulling our hair out in the regular season when the team would bleed losses due to a faulty bullpen.

Of course, tonight’s starter Jon Gray can’t really excuse himself from a nomination in the blame game, either, as he only went four innings and allowed three runs while pitching extremely inefficiently as any hopes that he may have had of being named to Bruce Bochy’s American League side at the All-Star game evaporated with his third poor outing in his last four times on the bump.
