The Texas Rangers scored six runs while the Miami Marlins scored zero runs again.
A big first inning does wonders to make you feel pretty good about your team’s chances to win. The Rangers came into today’s game tied with Cleveland for tenth best in baseball by scoring 0.52 runs per first inning. They’ll improve that mark as they were able to plate a trio of runs in the first frame today thanks to some well-placed hits and run-producing outs.
After that first inning, the bats kind of turned off the spigot until bookending the win with two runs in the ninth.
