The Texas Rangers scored seven runs while the Miami Marlins scored zero runs.
Despite hanging around .500 for much of the season, the Rangers had inexplicably gone 1-6 against teams sitting in last place heading into today’s game with the one win requiring a 13th inning HBP as Texas and Anaheim decided to see how long a baseball game could go without a hit with runners in scoring position.
Today, however, against still last place Marlins, and after getting blown out by them last evening, the Rangers were able to get a win despite striking out 16 times and despite facing a left-handed starting pitcher.
