The Rangers are sending Lewis Brinson, Luis Ortiz in the trade and a player to be named later. The Rangers are also getting closer Jeremy Jeffress in the trade.
Brinson is the No. 2 prospect for the Rangers and Ortiz is the No. 3. Brinson was a 2012 first round pick, the No. 21 prospect overall and the No. 10 outfielder. Ortiz, a pitcher, is the No. 63 overall prospect.
Lucroy fills a major need for the Rangers at catcher. Texas was active at today's deadline, as they also traded for Carlos Beltran. Jeffress has 27 saves and a 2.22 ERA.
