The Texas Rangers completed a sweep of the Houston Astros on Thursday, and remain atop the AL West standings behind the strength of their high-octane offense. The team's pitching has met expectations thus far, however, and some concerning news on ace Yu Darvish was reported on Friday.
Read on for the latest Rangers news and rumors.
Yu Darvish delayed
Darvish was scheduled to make his first rehab start for the Rangers on Tuesday, but a report came in Friday afternoon that the three-time All-Star will not start for Double-A Frisco:

It is currently unclear if the Rangers are simply slow-playing their Japanese star, or if Darvish experienced a setback in his last session.
Keone Kela has surgery
A day after being placed on the disabled list, Kela underwent arthroscopic surgery on his pitching elbow. The Ranges, who boast the worst bullpen ERA in the AL (5.59), will sorely miss the the right-handed reliever. Though he has struggled this season -- probably due to the injury -- Kela is one of Texas' top relievers. He posted a 2.39 ERA with 22 holds and 68 strikeouts in his rookie year.
