In this Rangers rumors and news update, the Texas Rangers are currently engaged in trade discussions with the Detroit Tigers regarding Rangers closer Joakim Soria.
Per Jon Morosi of FOX Sports 1, the Rangers and Tigers are currently working on finding a scenario that will work for both parties:

In spite of the Rangers' MLB-worst 38-57 record, Soria is 16-for-17 on save opportunities with a 2.67 ERA, proving to be a bright spot for the team in the back end of the bullpen. Soria has slotted into a setup role before, so a potential trade to Detroit wouldn't necessarily mean the displacement of Joe Nathan as Tigers closer.
As of this time, there is no word on what the Texas Rangers would receive in such a trade. However, the Rangers should be able to pick up a very nice return for the dominant 30-year-old right-hander if not an absolute haul.
