The Texas Longhorns offered a scholarship to four-star athlete Saiid Adebo (Mansfield, TX) earlier this week, and that moved them right to the top in his recruitment:
“It was big," Adebo said. "Growing up, I always liked Texas. It’s a home-state team. If you live in Texas, you follow UT, so it’s a big offer. It’s definitely going to be somewhere I look at. I like the tradition. They’ve been down a few years. But Texas doesn’t stay down for long, so they’ll be back in no time.”
Notre Dame did lead in his recruitment with Baylor and TCU trying to catch them, but the offer from Texas is the one that Adebo was looking for. Still, he doesn't plan to make a commitment soon.
He plays both wide receiver and cornerback at the high school level, yet he isn't looking to play one way or the other in college.
“It doesn’t matter to me. I think I’m equally capable of playing both ways. It doesn’t matter. Whatever school or system fits me best is where I will go.”
The 6'0", 180-pounder ranks as the No. 15 athlete and No. 251 overall prospect in the country.
