The Texas Longhorns are searching for more QB depth for next year and are hoping to land a graduate transfer to fill that role. They might have found that player. The Louisville Courier-Journal reports Texas has interest in former Louisville Cardinals QB Kyle Bolin.
"Bolin said his parting of ways with U of L is completely amicable, and he said U of L has placed no restrictions on his transfer," the Courier-Journal reports. "He said coach Bobby Petrino has been "nothing but supportive" of his decision and allowed him to have contact with other schools while spring practice has been going on, including a trip to Cincinnati's spring game on Friday. He said Northern Illinois has also offered him a scholarship, and he plans to visit there. He said Texas and Western Michigan are among the teams that he's been in contact with."

Bolin lost his starting job to Lamar Jackson, the Heisman winner last year. In a handful of games over his three years at Louisville, Bolin has completed 5.83 percent of his passes for 2,104 yards, 13 TDs and 10 picks.
Bolin was a four-star recruit from Lexington, Kentucky who was recruited by Charlie Strong. Going to one of the other schools would allow Bolin to compete for a starting job and stay closer to home.
At Texas, Bolin would likely only provide insurance in the event expected starter Shane Buechele is injured. Head coach Tom Herman has not promised Buechele the starting job, but the second-year QB is clearly the top option right now. Bolin would provide the veteran experience and depth Herman is searching for.
