The Texas Longhorns don't take the field for the start of the regular season for several months, giving the coaching staff plenty of time to focus on recruiting. The Longhorns just landed a commitment from four-star athlete Howard Estell, but that's not all that's going on for Texas in the recruiting world. Here are the latest Texas football recruiting news and rumors.
Who Will Commit Next?
Fresh off the addition of Estell, the question now becomes who will commit to Texas next. 247Sports thinks it will be four-star DE Taquon Graham. He'll make his announcement next Friday and Texas is considered the favorite at the moment.
Texas Will Get Visit From Top DT In Class Of 2018
While the class of 2017 is the main focus, Texas isn't overlooking the class of 2018. In fact, they'll get a visit over the summer from the top DTs in the class of 2018, Taron Vincent.
"I actually went on a visit once with my mom towards the end of my freshman year," Vincent told 247Sports. "I liked Charlie Strong. I liked the campus and the facilities. I just want to meet with the coaches and get a feel for everything."
The Longhorns will need that visit from the Florida native as they aren't among his leaders.
"I would say Ohio State, Florida State and UCLA are my leaders right now," Vincent said. "They are all great programs. I like what they have to offer. I want to make visits there and just check everything out."
Still, don't rule out the Longhorns yet.
