The Texas Longhorns are maintaining constant contact with four-star offensive tackle Grayson Reed (Houston, TX) despite his commitment to Texas A&M last month, and it appears to be paying dividends. Reed stressed how much he really likes Texas and the coaching staff.
“Before, I knew all about Texas, but when Coach Mattox got there, I already had a relationship with him at Tulsa," Reed said, via 247sports. "I knew he was a really good coach and a really good person. When he came to Texas, I felt it was awesome. Whenever we had the bad flooding, he hit me up and asked me how I was doing. We really just talked about that.
"We talk about food a lot because coach Mattox and I love food a lot. They’re all cool coaches. We don’t always talk about football.”
Reed insists he is still "100 percent" committed to the Aggies, but he does plan to visit Texas this summer.
The 6'5", 304-pounder is ranked as the No. 26 offensive tackle and No. 186 overall prospect in the country.
