With spring practice over and no football until fall for the Texas Longhorns, recruiting takes center stage for Tom Herman and his coaching staff. Texas is off to a strong start early, ranking 10th in the nation with nine commits. But Texas is far from done and there's plenty of action around Texas football recruiting. 4-star RB Keaontay Ingram commits to Texas
Four-star running back Keaontay Ingram (Carthage, TX) announced on Twitter that he has committed to Texas.

The 6-foot-1, 187-pounder is ranked as the No. 12 running back and No. 229 overall prospect in the country, according to 247sports' Composite Rankings. He is also the top running back in the state of Texas.
Longhorns lead for 4-star OLB Marcel Brooks
2019 four-star linebacker Marcel Brooks (Flower Mound, TX) received a scholarship from Texas over the weekend, and according to E.J. Holland of 247sports, the Longhorns have a big lead for Brooks.
A source close to four-star Flower Mound Marcus outside linebacker Marcel Brooks said he is strongly favoring Texas after receiving an offer from the Longhorns over the weekend. The source also said TCU is trying to get Brooks to get on campus before he makes any type of decision, which he tweeted would come soon. Right now, Texas should feel very good about where it stands.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder is ranked as the No. 7 outside linebacker and No. 78 overall prospect in the 2019 class, according to 247sports.
3-star TE pushes decision date back
Bralen Taylor, a three-star tight end from Cuero, TX, was originally expected to announce his decision on June 11, but said on Twitter that he has pushed his decision date.

Taylor went to a Texas camp last weekend, and though the Longhorns haven't offered him a scholarship, they would be the favorite to land him if they did.
