AUSTIN, Texas – The UT Tower will be lit Monday night to honor the Texas Women's Track and Field program after the Longhorns won their third-straight Big 12 Indoor Championship last month in Ames, Iowa. The women, ranked No. 10 nationally, scored a Big 12 Indoor-record 180.33 points en route to their triumphant victory.
Texas' women won nine events, including a pair of relays, and had two perfomers – sophomore Julien Alfred and senior Kathryn Gillespie – receiving High Point Performer honors. Alfred (60m, 200m, 4x400m Relay) and Gillespie (800m, Mile, DMR) both won three conference titles, becoming the first Longhorns to do so indoors since Marshevet Hooker in 2006.
