AUSTIN, Texas — University of Texas sophomore Sabina Zeynalova has been named the Big 12 Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday. Zeynalova earned the first weekly conference honor of her career and became the second Longhorn to receive the Big 12 weekly accolade this year, as Charlotte Chavatipon claimed the honor on Jan. 24.
Zeynalova paced the Longhorns to a pair of home victories against ranked foes in league play this past weekend, compiling a 2-0 singles mark and a 1-0 record in doubles play. She registered a pair of dominant straight-set wins in singles, only dropping a combined seven games over her two matches.
