Texas' Celeste Taylor has been named the Big 12 Conference Co-Freshman of the Week for her standout performances in the Longhorns' victories against Texas Tech and Kansas State this past week, the league office in Irving, Texas, announced Monday.
Taylor shares the honor with Kansas State forward Ayoka Lee.
For the week, Taylor averaged 11.0 points per game (third on the team) and 4.5 rebounds per game. She also led her squad in steals (9) and three-pointers made (5) this past week.
In Sunday's win at Kansas State, Taylor swiped seven steals, which tied for the eighth-most in a single game in program history.
