AUSTIN, Texas — Texas women's basketball's Madison Booker was named a top 5 finalist for the Cheryl Miller Award on Wednesday.
On Tuesday Booker became the first freshman in the history of Big 12 women's basketball to be named the Big 12 Player of the Year. Booker was also selected by the conference head coaches as the Big 12 Freshman of the Year and a unanimous selection to the All-Big 12 First Team.
In Big 12 play, Booker averaged 20.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.2 assists while shooting 48 percent from the field and 91.
