FORT WORTH, Texas – Texas dominated the backboards, shot 58 percent in the second half, and opened the third quarter with a 15-1 scoring run to defeat No. 25 TCU, 77-67, on Wednesday night at Schollmaier Arena.
Three Longhorns achieved double-doubles: Celeste Taylor with 22 points and 10 rebounds, Charli Collier with 16 points and 16 boards, and Joyner Holmes with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Texas (17-10, 9-6) out-rebounded TCU, 57-27.
Lauren Heard scored 19 points for the Horned Frogs (20-6, 11-4).
Hitting a trio of three-point field goals in the first four minutes, TCU got off to an initial 11-point advantage.
