AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Texas women's basketball program, coming off one of the best seasons in program history in 2015-16, has been ranked in the top 10 in a pair of preseason publications.
Lindy's Sports ranked the Longhorns No. 8, while the Athlon Sports' preseason preview issue rated Texas No. 10. Both publications are currently for sale on newsstands.
Some highlights of the 2015-16 season included:
· Most victories (31) since the 1987-88 campaign.
· Furthest run in the NCAA Tournament (Elite Eight) since the 2002-03 season.
· Tied for the most Big 12 Conference victories (15) in program history.
