LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas rallied from a one-point deficit early in the fourth quarter to defeat Texas, 82-67, in a Big 12 Conference game on Saturday night at Allen Field House.
Texas (15-9, 7-5) was led by Joyner Holmes' 17 points and Celeste Taylor's 15. Kansas (13-11, 2-11) rode the momentum of Aniya Thomas' 21 points.
A driving layup by Sug Sutton beat the buzzer to give Texas a 23-20 lead at the end of the first quarter. Kansas led for most of the initial period. Texas took its first lead, 17-16, on a bucket by Lashann Higgs
With the game tied, 28-28, in the second quarter, Kansas went on a 13-3 run to take a 41-31 halftime lead, shooting 60 percent in the period.
