Each year, college football slowly morphs more into an NFL-like model.

Whether that’s a good thing or bad thing, it depends on who you ask.

But either way, the most recent example is the Southeastern Conference’s decision to require football programs to file mandatory injury reports, just as NFL teams must do.

CBS Sports reports that the new rules are expected to be in place at the beginning of the 2024 college football season, which is only a matter of weeks away (thank you, dear lord!)

But, why?

It’s a fair question, and one that required an answer in the golden age of sports betting.
