With the wind blasting out of Taylor Stadium in Columbia at 30 miles per hour on Friday, the No. 7 Texas Longhorns lived in that jet stream, launching five home runs in a 15-4 run-rule victory over the Missouri Tigers.
Sophomore center fielder Will Gasparino led the way for the Horns, going 3-for-5 with eight RBI, becoming only the third Texas player to accomplish that feat since 2008, hitting a two-run single in the third inning and three-run home runs in the fourth and fifth innings, the second traveling 437 feet and leaving his bat at 110 miles per hour.
