Securing the series win over the Missouri Tigers wasn’t as easy for the No. 7 Texas Longhorns as it looked on Friday in the run-rule victory in Columbia, but the Longhorns were able to grind out a 7-4 victory in the opening game of Saturday’s double header at Taylor Stadium.
The victory marked the first series Texas has won against Missouri since 2011 with the help of two more home runs by sophomore center fielder Will Gasparino, who notched his first career multi-home run performance on Friday and now has five home runs in his last 10 at bats.
