One of the lingering TV questions from Sunday night's Texas 50-47 win over Notre Dame is: "Where was Steve Buechele during the ABC broadcast?"
After all, Steve's baby boy, freshman QB Shane, wowed as the Longhorns' starting quarterback. And the Rangers bench coach is a celeb of sorts in his own right. In addition to working the bench for the team with the best record in the American League, for 11 seasons Steve Buechele was a slick-fielding third baseman for the Rangers, Pittsburgh Pirates and those TV darlings, Chicago Cubs.
So how come ABC showed former major league outfielder Torii Hunter when his son Torii made a big player for Notre Dame but never showed Papa Buechele?
