Why Texas QB Sam Ehlinger has no doubt the Longhorns have a better offense than 2017

Sam Ehlinger has moved past the hoping stage.

The sophomore quarterback expressed no doubt when asked Tuesday if he knew the Texas offense would be better this season or merely hoped it would be.

"I 100 percent know," Ehlinger said in a post-practice media availability, citing the learning curve in Tom Herman's offense. "Experience. Year 2, we're into trying to figure out what we're doing on every play. We know what we're doing. Now it's fine-tuning the parts of the offense to excel even more."

Texas' offensive inconsistency continued again last season. The Longhorns finished seventh in the Big 12 in total offense and ranked 66th overall in the FBS.
