The Charlie Strong era at Texas has provided a statistical conundrum.
While Strong may be just 16-18 in his third season at Austin, his team also takes an interesting-if-quirky streak into Saturday's home game with West Virginia. Texas has four consecutive wins over teams ranked in the Associated Press top 12, beginning with last season's win over Oklahoma at the Cotton Bowl. And West Virginia is ranked 11th by the AP.
Plenty more is at stake too.
-- Strong probably needs to win two out of the final three regular-season games to finish 7-5 and return next season.
