AUSTIN, Texas — On Saturday, the Texas Longhorns will run out of the south end zone tunnel onto Campbell-Williams Field at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in front of a sellout crowd as the stadium celebrates its 100th anniversary.
As the school transitions to the SEC, Saturday’s game will feature recognition for the athletic department winning the Director’s Cup, last year’s national champions, and the 30 Olympians who won 16 medals in Paris last month, which would rank 16th in the world behind Spain were the University of Texas at Austin a nation.
Before the game, head coach Steve Sarkisian will revel in walking down Bevo Boulevard and seeing the excitement in the eyes of players’ parents, one of a litany of pre-game moments about which Sarkisian spoke passionately during his game-week press conference on Monday.
