Heading into the rivalry game with the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday in the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, the Texas Longhorns have a new captain, as head coach Tom Herman named senior wide receiver Devin Duvernay to that role, the school revealed on Wednesday.
“The reason for this meeting — I’ve done this once before in my time as a head coach — and just the overall leadership and production on and off the field, so I would like to introduce to you your newest captain, Devin Duvernay,” Herman said.
