AUSTIN -- A wild night at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium got even wilder midway through the third quarter of the Longhorns' showdown with No. 22 USC.
USC kicker Chase McGrath lined up a 50-yard field goal attempt, hoping to cut Texas' lead to 23-17. But Texas freshman safety Caden Sterns came swarming in to block McGrath's kick, and senior linebacker Anthony Wheeler picked it up and ran it all the way back to the house to put the Longhorns up 30-14.
A sellout crowd of 103,507 in Austin roared to life as the Longhorns were placed firmly in the driver's seat.
