Former Texas standout and current Detroit Lions safety Quandre Diggs wasted no time introducing New York Jets rookie quarterback Sam Darnold to the NFL.
On the very first play from scrimmage during Monday Night Football's matchup between the Jets and Lions, Darnold rolled to his right and threw back across the field to Jets running back Bilal Powell. But Diggs came soaring in to intercept Darnold's pass, returning it the other way 37 yards for a touchdown. It was Darnold's first official pass of his NFL career.
Diggs, who played for the Longhorns from 2011-14 and made the All-Big 12 team three times, just signed a three-year, $20.
