While in the midst of a three-man competition with Case Keenum and rookie Dwayne Haskins for the starting quarterback position, Colt McCoy has been battling through a past injury.
The former Longhorn legend and current Washington Redskins quarterback will miss his second straight preseason game this week due to lingering issues in his healing broken leg.
At the NFL League Meetings last month, head coach Jay Gruden openly admitted that the team rushed McCoy’s recovery time for the injury.
“What happened was when we had the injury, we were aggressive in trying to get him back on the field so fast, we didn’t give it enough time to heal the right way so they went back in and did a small procedure to make sure the leg is on track to be full strength by the season.
