The Texas football uniform, with its timeless burnt orange and white, isn't often subject to change. Small alterations convey an outsized message, and perhaps none more so than the names of former Texas students and military members that will adorn the helmets in honor of Veterans Day this Saturday.
The gestures carry a special meaning for Naashon Hughes, whose father, Chris, served in the army for more than 25 years.
For Hughes, a senior outside linebacker and team captain, life and the military are deeply intertwined.
