AUSTIN — As he looked forward to what might be his final home series at Disch-Falk Field this week, Texas baseball coach Augie Garrido said Wednesday morning he was sure of two things.

“I have my health,” Garrido said. “And I have my wealth.”

Whether he has a job next season remains to be determined, but the 77-year-old winner of more games than any coach in college baseball history said Tuesday he would like to serve the final year of his contract, which expires in 2017.
