UT scoring leader Mack suspended indefinitely

AUSTIN — Already reeling from four losses in five games, Texas is about to enter the toughest stretch of its season without its leading scorer.

Sophomore forward Tevin Mack has been suspended indefinitely for an unspecified violation of team rules, coach Shaka Smart announced Thursday. It is the second time this season Mack has been suspended.

We have a set of standards that we expect people in our program to adhere to,” Texas coach Shaka Smart said in a statement released by the school. “Tevin has failed to reach them.”

A UT official said Mack’s violation did not involve NCAA rules.
