AUSTIN — Texas regents are set to approve three-year contracts for new Longhorns offensive coordinator Sterlin Gilbert and offensive line coach Matt Mattox.
Gilbert and Mattox, who joined Charlie Strong’s staff in December after being lured away from Tulsa, both will receive three-year deals, according to the agenda for the regents’ meeting scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday. Gilbert will be paid $850,000 per year, while Mattox will receive $550,000 per year.
Both contracts include incentive-based bonuses that could total as much as $285,000 per assistant if the Longhorns win conference and national championships and the coach wins the Frank Broyles Assistant Coach of the Year award.
