AUSTIN — Seven months after allegations of misconduct in the Texas men’s basketball program, an internal review of the athletic department’s academic services called for minor changes but found no evidence of NCAA violations.
The results of the investigation, headed by former NCAA infractions chief Gene Marsh, were announced by UT Wednesday. The school also released a September “case closing letter” issued by the NCAA in stating “there is no need for further inquiry into this matter at this time.”
UT president Greg Fenves called for the review last June, when a Chronicle of Higher Education reported allegations about three former men’s basketball players dating back to 2006.
