Thursday’s announcement from rising redshirt junior quarterback Quinn Ewers was one of the final draft decisions for the Texas Longhorns as head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff close in on the program’s spring roster and, therefore, the group the Longhorns will take into the 2024 season, the first in the SEC.
With Ewers staying, Texas is currently at 85 scholarships for the 2024 season while awaiting an announcement from senior nickel back Jahdae Barron, who has a COVID season of eligibility remaining. Since the transfer window opened, 13 players have left the program via the NCAA transfer portal with four of those players still seeking their next destination.
