Updated: Texas RB Kirk Johnson to miss up to six weeks with shoulder sprain

After entering preseason camp close to full health, the Texas Longhorns are now in full pads and beginning to acquire the bumps and bruises that naturally result from practicing, as head coach Tom Herman announced on Wednesday that sophomore safety DeMarvion Overshown and senior running back Kirk Johnson have both suffered injuries.

Overshown, who suffered a knee injury last season in preseason camp that limited his contributions to mostly to special teams, now has a mid-foot sprain, but Herman is hopeful that he’ll only miss several days.

Johnson, on the other hand, who fell on his shoulder during practice, has been diagnosed with a severe sternoclavicular joint sprain and will be out up to six weeks, per multiple reports.
