Saturday afternoon at UFCU Disch-Falk Field featured a defensive pitchers’ duel between the Texas Longhorns and Boise State Broncos, and thanks to Ty Madden’s gem, the Longhorns came out on top 2-1. Madden threw a complete game, the first of his collegiate career, tying his career high in strikeouts (7), while also allowing just two hits and no walks.
Scoring was few and far between in this game, with the three total runs scored across three different innings. Texas got on the board first in the bottom of the opening inning. After an Austin Todd single and stolen base, Zach Zubia singled in Todd to put the Longhorns up 1-0 in the opening frame.
