The nation’s top-ranked 2020 dual-threat quarterback is keeping his talents close to home.
On Wednesday, five-star Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei announced that he’ll remain in the Golden State to play college football with his commitment to the USC Trojans.
The Texas Longhorns were one Young’s final six options, along with Penn State, Washington, Alabama, and Oklahoma, which was considered the runner up.
In comparison to USC, which has had an offer on the table since last summer, Texas jumped into the mix relatively late. The Longhorns finally extended an offer on April 24, just days after Young’s trip to the Forty Acres for the spring game, and he returned several days later for another unofficial visit on May 4.
