Three Texas football assistants have pay hikes approved by system regents; DL coach Haley goes up to $495,000

Three members of coach Charlie Strong's staff had raises approved Thursday by the Texas system board of regents.

UT system regents approved significant pay raises for three current Texas football assistants Thursday at its meeting in addition to contracts for two new staffers.

Defensive line coach Brick Haley, courted by Texas A&M in the offseason, received a 98 percent raise from a guaranteed compensation of $250,000 (including speaking fees and camps) to $495,000 on a two-year deal. In the third year, his salary could climb to $515,000.

Tight ends coach and special teams coordinator Jeff Traylor goes from a guaranteed compensation of $260,000 to $350,000 while strength coach Pat Moorer got a bump from $330,000 to $350,000.
