Here are three quick takeaways from No. 24 Texas' 85-78 win over No. 10 West Virginia:
1. Davis sparks first-half run. The Longhorns' offense appeared stagnant against the No. 10-ranked Mountaineers (20-6, 9-4 Big 12) as they struggled in the first half. Texas (17-9, 8-5) trailed by as much as eight in the first half.
But freshman guard Eric Davis went on a big three-point shooting run late in the first half to spark the team. Davis went 4-4 beyond the arc in the opening half.
Davis' run was a part of a strong finish to the half.
