AUSTIN, Texas — Thirty current or former University of Texas athletes have earned spots on their home countries' Olympic teams, and seven coaches with ties to UT Athletics also will participate in the upcoming Olympic Games. The 30 athletes competing sets a record for the largest delegation that The University of Texas has sent to an Olympics, topping the previous best of 29 athletes at the 2020 Tokyo Games.
The 2024 Summer Olympic Games will be held July 26-August 11 in Paris, France. All told, UT athletes and coaches will represent 12 different Longhorns' sports programs (Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, Men's Golf, Women's Golf, Rowing, Soccer, Men's Swimming and Diving, Women's Swimming and Diving, Women's Tennis, Men's Track and Field, Women's Track and Field and Volleyball) and represent 16 different countries (Canada, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Great Britain, Haiti, Hungary, Ireland, Jamaica, Netherlands, New Zealand, Saint Lucia, Serbia, South Sudan, Taiwan and the United States).
