The Good, Bad, and Expected from Texas’ comfortable win over Rice

“Why does Rice play Texas?”

The Texas Longhorns overmatched the Rice Owls and cruised to a comfortable 48-13 victory on Saturday night. There was plenty of good, little bad, and an expected bounce-back performance on the offense during last night’s win.

This will be a weekly column throughout the season as I’ll categorize takeaways from each game into the good, bad, and expected for UT football standards.

The Good

Although he was facing an undermatched Rice secondary, Ehlinger looked the best he’s looked thus far and the numbers showed it — 23-for-27, 279 passing yards, and three touchdowns.
