Defense isn’t exactly a selling point when it comes to Big 12 football. That perhaps holds truer than ever after Oklahoma won the conference in 2018 -- its fourth consecutive league title -- with the No. 114 defense in the country, allowing an average of 453.8 yards per game.
But in a league that is no stranger to being criticized for appearing void of old-school, “smash mouth” football at times, that one stop -- or two -- can sometimes make the difference between victory and defeat.
