Texas WR/TE outlook for 2018: Collin Johnson and a whole lot of uncertainty

Texas’ passing game proved anemic for much of 2017, ranking No. 7 in the Big 12 in yards per game. The Longhorns had no shortage of receivers available, with a deep rotation of 10 receivers hauling in 10-plus balls. But aside from standout sophomore Collin Johnson, no Longhorn reached the 40-catch mark, and senior Armanti Foreman was Texas’ touchdown leader with just four.

Things were more dire at tight end. Following the season-ending injury of senior Andrew Beck in August, the Longhorns were forced to rely on a trio of inexperienced players, led by freshman Cade Brewer.
