AUSTIN, Texas — Three wide receiver coaches in four years. Fourteen transfers since head coach Steve Sarkisian’s arrival. Shortened rotations. Injuries. Recruiting misses.
For the Texas Longhorns, finding coaching stability and depth at the wide receiver position has been one of the biggest staff and roster issues for Sarkisian, who once deployed Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs, DeVonta Smith, John Metchie, and Jaylen Waddle at the same time at Alabama.
Heading into the 2024, the Longhorns finally have a deep group at wide receiver after landing three transfers to replace three NFL draft picks and two more players who entered the NCAA transfer portal during the winter window.
