The 2021 football season for the Texas Longhorns will open with a game against the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns in Austin at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Sept. 4, the school confirmed on Thursday.
The home game against the Ragin’ Cajuns completes a non-conference schedule that already featured games at Arkansas on Sept. 11 and at home against Rice the following week.
The 2021 game between Texas and Louisiana will be the third in the all-time series. The Horns won the first two matchups in 2000 and 2005. In fact, the last national championship season in Austin kicked off with a 60-3 victory over the Ragin’ Cajuns in Austin.
