The first 12-team College Football Playoff bracket is set, and the No. 3 Texas Longhorns pulled the No. 16 Clemson Tigers for their first leg in what looks like a very feasible path to the national championship with an opening game at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. However, it all starts with a strong Clemson football program led by head coach Dabo Swinney that is making its seventh appearance in the playoffs.
“I think that Coach Swinney’s done a fantastic job at Clemson,” Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian said Monday. “You don’t win two national titles over a 17-year period, multiple appearances in the CFP, numerous ACC conference championships.
