AUSTIN, Texas — During the College Football Playoff selection show earlier this month, the first celebration came when the Texas Longhorns were announced as the No. 5 seed.
The second celebration was the calls of “Mukuba Bowl” from Texas players as the Clemson Tigers were announced as the opponent for the Longhorns, matching Texas senior safety Andrew Mukuba against his former team less than a year after departing South Carolina to return back to his adopted hometown of Austin.
It was something of a full-circle moment for the 6’0, 190-pounder, but the story of Andrew Mukuba started in hard-scrabble circumstances in Harare, Zimbabwe, the nation’s capital city.
