The No. 5-seeded Texas Longhorns volleyball team turned in an impressive performance against the Michigan Wolverines on Friday in Provo to advance to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament, thanks to a 3-1 victory that was at times gritty and at times dominant.
With the win, head coach Jerritt Elliott’s program advanced to a 13th straight spot among the final 16 teams standing, an active streak unmatched by anyone else in the country.
Texas dominated in the first set especially, winning 25-10, then finished off the match with a comfortable 25-19 edge after playing two games that needed 29 points for the winner to take the set.
