Texas utility man Jake McKenzie played all 9 positions in Longhorns' 7-inning win Tuesday

Texas utility man Jake McKenzie found himself scattered throughout UFCU Disch-Falk Field on Tuesday night, spending time at all nine positions in a seven-inning contest. The former walk-on started at catcher in the Longhorns' 13-2 win over UT Rio Grande Valley, ending his night 60 feet away, pitching in the final frame.

McKenzie became the first player in Texas history to play all nine positions in a single game. Only five MLB players have ever accomplished such a feat, per the NCAA.

The Longhorns' lone senior had played nearly every position for the burnt orange since arriving on campus in 2015, but he appeared at catcher for the first time in a Texas uniform Tuesday.
